About Toledo Society
Toledo Society is a network of inspiring, engaging and high-quality podcasts for a new generation of English-speaking Muslims. Toledo’s mission is to reinvigorate Muslim identity, by becoming a launchpad for untold stories and hidden talent in the global Muslim community.
The name Toledo refers to the Andalusian city that was home to the printing and translation centre which facilitated the distribution of the great Muslim works of 1,100 years to the rest of the world. Toledo was the also the city that officially recognised the three major religions, during and even post Muslim-rule.
Society refers to the spirit in which our network was built on. We are collaborative and approachable. Our team is young and nimble, and is committed to on boarding talent and experts that are mission-driven and are ready for a ride! Moeed Ahmad is a digital media executive who has spearheaded the launch of multiple successful brands like AJ+, Jetty and Contrast VR within Al Jazeera where he currently heads Innovation and Research. He is passionate about open source technologies and other community enabling movements such as the Creative Commons.
Hisham has managed digital sales & user growth for major brands in several international markets across FMCG & media verticals. He is currently a senior marketing manager at TRT World where he is responsible for driving user adoption across the organisations digital platforms.
Mohamad Zaoud is a brand enthusiast and consults businesses and NGOs on brand & growth strategies. He’s currently the Manager of Digital Growth – EMEA, and formerly Head of Marketing MENA, at Al Jazeera Media Network where he’s worked on flagship brands including Al Jazeera and AJ+.
